SUMMARY:Virtual Tashlich: Letting Go of Cancer-Related Trauma in Preparation for the High Holidays
DESCRIPTION:As the Jewish New Year approaches\, many of us make apologies\, ask for forgiveness\, and we hope for a new year filled with health and happiness. And our concerns can extend beyond the practical. While facing such a difficult experience\, are we expected to ask for forgiveness? How can we even think about the coming year\, as we are still trying to get through the current one? Even the High Holiday liturgy can present challenges. \nJoin us on Friday\, September 26th at 12:30 pm EDT/9:30 am PDT\, to help you prepare for more meaningful High Holidays\, and the coming new year with special guest\, Rabbi Dr. Jason Weiner\, Executive Director of the Spiritual Care Department\, at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles\, who will speak about personal resilience during the holidays. \nRegister here. \nQuestions? SUMMARY:The Impact of Culturally Competent Cancer Care
DESCRIPTION:Attention all health care and non-profit professionals! Sharsheret’s The Impact of Culturally Competent Cancer Care is a one hour training webinar about the importance of culturally competent care for cancer patients. The training explores the issues through the example of Jewish women facing breast cancer. The training includes topics such as the diversity of the Jewish community\, increased hereditary risk for Jewish women\, and cultural\, religious and spiritual issues that may impact detection\, treatment or survivorship. Woven throughout the presentation will be examples of how this information is relevant to many other communities. Participants will also learn about the free resources Sharsheret can provide to all breast and ovarian cancer patients. \nFree CE credit may be available through ASWB\, NYSW\, ANCC\, and ACCME. \nRegister here. \nContact Melissa Rosen\, Director of Training and Education\, with any questions. \n  \n
