This session will focus on writing and ritual as a means of healing\, which has been studied as an effective way to heal from both physical and emotional trauma. There will be time for sharing your own new writing from the session\, something that you have already written before\, or come to listen to others. \n\n\nNo previous writing experience necessary–our focus is on the power of expressing personal stories. She is a pediatric physical therapist. As a newly married woman\, Erin developed a love for being creative in the kitchen and eventually started sharing recipes on her Instagram page\, @erin.eats.mtl. She knows how busy life can be and her goal is to share easy and healthy(ish) recipes for the busy family. While sharing recipes\, Erin gained a love of food photography as well and now she develops recipes with accompanying photographs for different companies. Sharsheret’s The Impact of Culturally Competent Cancer Care is a one hour training webinar about the importance of culturally competent care for cancer patients. Not simply the politically correct thing to do\, or something kind during a difficult time\, this type of care has a proven impact on survivorship. The training explores the issues through the example of Jewish women facing breast cancer. The training includes topics such as the diversity of the Jewish community\, increased hereditary risk for Jewish women\, and cultural\, religious and spiritual issues that may impact detection\, treatment or survivorship. Woven throughout the presentation will be examples of how this information is relevant to many other communities.
